8 years after Chitti was dismantled due to the destruction he caused. Vaseekaran has created a new human-robot Nila which can understand human feelings better. The cell phones in the city start to disappear from everywhere. A creature in the form of a bird creates havoc in the city causing destruction. Vaseegaran believes it to be the fifth element force and decides to get Chitti back in action.

While doing research on animals and birds, Akshay Kumar loses his own life, on the other hand, Vasikaran (Rajinikanth) is showing a new robot Neela to the students. Then suddenly everyone's mobile phones start flying. Mobile phones from all over Tamil Nadu have flown in the air even before something is known about them. An emergency meeting is called by the government to resolve this problem. Vasikaran proposes to bring Chitti back there, which was disabled in 2010. But Professor Bohra's son, Dhirendra Bohra, opposes this and the council decides to seek help from the army. However, a mob of mobile phones attacks the army.

Similarly, along with Jayant Kumar, who sells mobile phones, and Ranjit Lula, owner of the transmission tower, these mobile phones also kill the telecom minister of the state. In order to avoid further losses, the Home Minister, Vijay Kumar orders Vasikaran to make Chitti without permission. Chitty comes to a big crow chasing those mobile phones. The fight ensues between them and Chitty's battery runs out, he finds a source of electricity and is seen with three large single transmitters. That crow is not able to come in the area of ​​the transmitter, which surprises Vasikaran.

Vasikaran reveals to Chitti that those birds are getting strength from some negative energy or aura, which belongs to one person and some birds. When all his birds die, the bird Rajan also commits suicide. His life and the lives of some dead birds combine to form an aura, which takes control of the mobile phone.

Chitti tells him not to kill people, but the bird Rajan refuses and attacks him. By turning the Chitti antenna back, the bird destroys Rajan and imprisons him in a controlling circuit. With the help of Chitti, the Home Minister gives him legal recognition. The Home Minister also orders him to build other such robots. With this Dhinendra gets burnt and the bird Rajan frees him by going to the place where he is imprisoned. The bird Rajan now enters Vasigaran's body and starts attacking people. Chitti is unable to attack because he does not want to kill Vasigaran. Birds Rajan takes advantage of this and rips Chitti apart.

Neela takes her back to the lab and folds her body back. This bar replaces Bohra's red chip in place of that microchip. This makes Chitti 2.0 now. Neela forces her to kill Rajan, the bird only. Chitti makes many robots on his own and the bird Rajan captures a football field and kills Dhirendra.
