Doraemon the Movie 2017: Nobita's Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi is a Japanese animated sci-fi film. It is the 37th movie in Doraemon movie animated series. It's directed and written by Atsushi Takahashi. Takahashi was an assistant director on Hayao Miyazaki's Academy Award-winning Spirited Away. It was released on March 4, 2017, in Japan. Nintendo 3D video game was also based on the film for was released in Japan on March 2, 2017.

Doraemon the Movie 2017: Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi: Unable to bear the midsummer warmth, Doraemon transports Nobita and his friends to a giant iceberg floating in the South Pacific. While making amusement parks with the secret tool “Ice-working Iron” the group finds a secret golden ring in the ice. Upon closer investigation, they determine that the ring immersed in Antarctica 100,000 years ago – before people could have lived here. Doraemon and friends head to Antarctica searching for the owner of the ring and come across the remains of a huge city buried in the ice. Using Doraemon’s Time Belt, the group travels back 100,000 years ago and meets the teen girl Kara who is appendant to the mysterious ring. But now the group must fight for survival as Doraemon faces the trouble of the entire Earth freezing.

Doraemon the Movie 2017: Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi Full Story:

The movie starts 100,000 years ago, Carla losses her gold ring. On the other side, unable to endure the midsummer heat, Doraemon transfer Nobita and his friends to a giant iceberg floating in the South Pacific. While making an amusement park with the secret gadget "Ice-Working Iron", Nobita discovers a mysterious golden ring in the ice and he asks Doraemon to find how old the golden ring was. 

After knowing that the ring was buried in Antarctica 100,000 years ago, Doraemon tells Nobita and his friends that nobody had to find out about Antarctica until 1773, Doraemon and his friends change their dress to winter dress and use somewhere Door to visit Antarctica in find of its owner. They melt down a blue elephant-like structure whom Nobita calls Mosuke who was frozen in ice with a bag.

After facing many hazards they come athwart the shambles of a very big city buried in the ice and then tour back in time to meet Carla and Professor Hyakkoi, who are belonging to the secret ring and in the end meet them, and Carla's yellow elephant Yuka-tan look like to Mosuke; al the same, the group must fight for survival as Doraemon danger plunging the Earth into another ice age.

As everything beginning freezing, Nobita, Shizuka, Carla, Mosuke, Doraemon, Suneo, Gian, and Yuka-tan decide to travel 100,000 years later to outlive but Doraemon and Yuka-tan are separated from the group while they reach in future. But they are incapable to go back in time since the time belt battery is blank. Back in time, Doraemon remembers Dorami's vaticination that his lucky star can save him from getting frozen and freezes Yuka-tan with the bag of gadgets and the battery. Mosuke passes the bag to Nobita which was already frozen with it and Nobita says Mosuke is none other than Yuka-tan frozen by Doraemon to refer them to the battery.

Everybody travels back in time and save Doraemon and fight the ice demon. This movie ends with appears Doraemon and his friends saying good-bye to their friend Carla and Professor as they prepare to leave earth, after this Doraemon and his friends come back home, Doraemon shows Nobita the planet's (home planet of Carla and Professor) ice is melting and after some time the planet returns to it general condition and in the last sentence of the film before credits, Nobita's Mom calls him and Doraemon for dinner. The planet's position was specified to Doraemon by the professor. Doraemon uses a telescope to view the planet.

Doraemon the Movie 2017: Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kochi Kochi's tottle box office collection is $6.1 million on 592,036 audiences in its first weekend and ranked 1st on the Japanese box office. Premiered on 371 screens with the Toho distributing,  Doraemon's 37th film made the highest second-weekend gross and highest total after the second weekend in the franchise of Doraemon movie series and is the fastest Doraemon's movie to reach the ¥4 billion milestones within 37 days of release.
